Joshua Norris-Ongso

Founder S3 Method / Creator S3 Barre / Co-Founder S3 Studios

Joshua is an Australian Physiotherapist with over 20 years experience in clinical practice and the health and wellness industries.

After a career in performing arts and aerobic gymnastics which saw him represent Indonesia internationally, Joshua took his passion for sport and movements in another direction,  becoming a Physiotherapist at the elite level with career highlights including his work with the Indonesian Sports Commission and Fed Cup team.

Joshua proceeded to open 11 pilates and barre studios in Australia, launching the world's first barre workouts designed and choreographed by a physiotherapist. 

Joshua is a strong advocate of using the principles of stretch, strength and stability to manage and prevent musculoskeletal injuries. He is also a strong believer in making fitness and healthy lifestyle fun and accessible.

Today, Joshua is bringing his expertise and S3 Studios concept to Portugal. He is looking forward to introducing the S3 Method to his new home country and sharing his love of movements for EVERY BODY!

Thuy (pronounced Twee) moved to Portugal in 2020 with her family. After over 25 years of life as a desk jockey for small and large corporations, she decided to move her focus into well being for herself and her family. Being open to new ideas, promoting positive change, and building community, she leaped at the opportunity to launch S3 Studios with Joshua with her passion about making movement accessible to all as well as being fun. You will find Thuy welcoming you at the front desk as well as sneaking into classes.

Hi there! My name is Imogen, but most people call me Imo. I moved to Portugal all the way from Melbourne, Australia in 2023 and used the big move as an opportunity to pursue my dream of becoming a pilates teacher! With a background in mental health, I'm deeply passionate about the powerful connection between physical movement and mental well-being. As a lifelong dancer and someone who has practiced pilates for many years, it’s a true privilege to share my love for this movement style with others. What I love most about pilates is its ability to challenge every muscle in the body while also being a mindful practice that emphasizes the connection between mind and body. My goal is for you to leave my classes feeling strong, energized, and balanced!

Helping you learn English or Portuguese when doing Yoga and/or Reformer Pilates

My name is Fernanda, but you can call me Nanda. I'm an Architect who discovered yoga as a way to manage anxiety, allergic rhinitis, and stress. It was in 2007 that I dove into this practice, finding not only physical and breathing balance but also self-awareness. Some time later, in 2011, I adopted Pilates as a complement and was captivated by its mind-body approach. However, it was only in 2019 that my true path began to unfold: I became a yoga instructor and have been sharing this journey with others ever since. Yet, life is full of surprises, and a a couple of years ago, I moved to Portugal. Here, I renewed my passion for Pilates, embracing it not only as a personal practice but also as a professional path. I'm excited to continue helping people achieve balance and well-being, both physically and mentally, through the perfect combination of Yoga and Pilates.

Olá! Sou Fernanda mas pode me chamar de Nanda. Arquiteta de formação, descobri no yoga uma maneira de lidar com ansiedade, rinite alérgica e estresse. Foi no ano de 2007 que mergulhei nessa prática, encontrando não só exercício físico e respiratório, mas também autoconhecimento. Algum tempo depois, em 2011, adotei o Pilates como complemento, encantando-me com sua abordagem mente-corpo. Entretanto, foi só em 2019, que meu verdadeiro caminho começou a ser traçado: tornei-me instrutora de yoga, compartilhando essa jornada com outros desde então. Entretanto, a vida é cheia de surpresas e há dois anos, mudei-me para Portugal. Aqui, renovei minha paixão pelo Pilates, porém, dessa vez não só em forma de prática pessoal mas também como caminho profissional. Estou animada para continuar a ajudar as pessoas a encontrarem equilíbrio e bem-estar físico e mental em suas vidas através do Yoga e do Pilates, o match perfeito.
